Flash Photography

I’ve recently (again) become enamored with photography portfolios, especially those done with Flash.

Here are a few of my favorites:

Interface issues aside, I’ve always loved seeing how designers face the challenge of displaying photographs online.

What are your favorites?

I love photography- I have just started to use a flash. I used to be so against it. I love the Photo works of Jeff Wall, he is one of my favorites. I recently heard about him through this photo club member at Cyworld. www.Cyworld.com has so many great clubs with people that really know what their practice. At any rate, I love shooting photos and viewing them as well. I am always up to finding new artist as well.

I've never been a huge fan of flash based portfolio sites for photographers. Mainly because I like to be able to link to and easily find again individual images that move me. So while these aren't Flashed based they are some current favs:

I wouldn’t necessarily discount Flash because of that. In this case, it’s the fault of the designer, not the medium. That being said, more effort does need to go into a lot of the Flash portfolios out there to make sure they're as usable as possible.

You're of course correct and I should have qualified that a bit. As you say it's not that a site built with Flash can't accomodate such things, just seems that most don't.

I really like Jim Herrington's site. navigation is a little odd, but kind of cool at the same time.

Well, strictly SEO speaking, it is a waste since Google is blind and without any content to index, how do you grow your reach?

Photography is great, but displaying in Flash... I don't like-y.
